Rhodium Electro-plating
We are involved in promoting a luxury fashion brand. Some of our fashion accessories are rhodium plated. We used Umicure Galvano Rhodium J2 for rhodium plating. However, our supplier in Bahrain says that Rhodium TD is an alternative that is more economical and delivers as good a result. We do not wish to compromise on the quality that we currently achieve using Rhodium J2. I would like to know what is the fundamental difference between J2 & TD? Which one of the two would be more suitable to use on a base metal such as Pewter Brittania Alloy? Any tips to improve our process for better results would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,Sridyar. The supplier claims that their TD process produces the
"whitest, brightest" deposits possible, so it should be okay. But all of this stuff is proprietary and you would need to contact Umicore directly to see if they will tell you what the difference is supposed to be. Good luck.
