How to get silver gray color on stainless steel by electropolishing

Q. Good Day Sirs /Madam

My requirement for electropolishing chemical for my product: we are a Manufacturer & Exporter of stainless steel hotel & restaurant wares, pans, sinks and many more sheet metal products since 1960. As our buyer from overseas is very particular of Satin finish achieved by electropolishing process and also due to labor problem we want to change over to this process from traditional manual polishing.

We want to achieve silver-ish gray color in dull matte finish not the bright generally we get by electropolishing.

For this, can you suggest suitable chemical or supplier from India or from any other country .

Thanks & Regards

A. Hi, Deepok. One of the best treatments of the subject of electrolytic polishing is in the Electroplating Engineering Handbook =>

But I have never heard of generating a matte or brushed finish by electrolytic polishing. To my knowledge you would need to continue to create the brush finish mechanically, and then finish it up with electropolishing. But maybe specialists know something that I don't. You might contact a vendor shown in the banner at the top of this page and see if they have a solution for you. Good luck.
