20 amp rectifier show current without giveing load.

July 13, 2009

Hello,

I switch on my 20 amp 12V rectifier and I saw current (amp meter) is moving without giving any load.
First I thought may be b'coz of old meter have burn, I changed but same problem.

What would be the problem.
Please advice.

Hi, Dipen. This is the 3rd thread you've started on the subject of problems with your new rectifiers (see letters 48941 and 52174), and it may be a bit duplicative. That is, the responses that were already offered may be the answer to this problem as well. If there is not a complete circuit from '+' to '-', yet current is flowing, it must be flowing to ground. Have an electrician put an external meter across the circuit from '+' to '-', and from '+' to ground, and from '-' to ground and find out where the current is flowing. Good luck.

Hi Ted,

You are right I'm facing different problem since many days 1st 100 amp new rectifier, 2nd heater, 3rd 20 amp old rectifier.

Regarding for new rectifier it was not a problem just matter of small load I was doing...
For heater I did change to silica quartz heater.

In my country it is hard to get good electrician all are doing experiment they just open and then said bad luck.

Thank you for your time.
