Minimum distance between components to be plated

What is a minimum distance between parts to be electro plated with gold 10 microinch thick? I have a relay with silver nickel alloy contacts. They have to be gold plated. The distance between the contacts is 0.010inch. Is this possible and how.

Hi, Steven. I assume you are speaking of parts that are already mounted on a printed circuit board and are 0.010 inch away from each other?

That may seem close, but remember that it is 1000 times the thickness of the plating. The plating may not be exactly uniform in thickness, but it is not going to bridge a gap a thousand times its required thickness. If I have misunderstood the question, please clarify.
