Clear Coat finish sometimes rusts

Dear Readers:

I am emailing you about the metalwork with clear coat surface finishing. We produce lots of clear coat items for store fixtures. However, some of them rust in a month. We wash the metal with gasoline. A little bird told me that there is a mixtures that can prevent rust happening. Do you know the components of the mixtures?

We follow every procedure to make sure no dirt or mark will be left on our products including wearing gloves.....

Thank you for your help in advance.
Best regards,David

First of two simultaneous responses --

The only way to prevent rust is to dry and/or coat the parts as fast as you can after you clean them. Give yourself a break and use Tide(laundry detergent)to clean the parts!

Second of two simultaneous responses --

Whether a liquid or powder (you do not say) clear coat it does not matter, these are not anti-corrosive coatings. If they are damaged or thin (like edges or holes), then rust will occur at some point in the future depending on the location... high humidity or near the sea. Contact a local pre-treatment supplier.

Thank you Sheldon. The metal parts, those need to be powder coated, must through several operation like punching, bending and welding. We do thousands of each item at the same time.Despite we wash and dry them ASAP we can do.There are still some rust occur after a few months.
