Removing shiny buff marks on 304 stainless

We manufacture stainless steel tanks in T304L 2B finish. One common problem is that during the manufacturing process, we seem to buff the stainless steel to make it shinier. That leaves an unsightly appearance on our tanks.
Is there a product that we can use that will allow us to "dull" up the finish again? Something that we can paint or brush on, that would take the shine out of it and restore it back to the original finish?

You can over passivate or pickle with Nitric/Hydrofluoric solution the whole unit or individual area in question. For the latter you will need to test different "exposure" times to match your original finish. Long exposure times in passivation solutions will create a dull grey matte finish.
