Continuing hard chrome plating after a power interruption
What are the steps to follow in order to continue my hard chrome electroplating process after an interruption of two hour or more?
More importantly, how do I prepare the item and in what chemicals?

Try reverse etch for about 1 min at 4,5 Volts. Then slowly rise the current for chrome plating (0,5 volts every 5 min).
The same if you have taken the part out of the bath but first leave it enough time inside the bath so as it gets bath temperature before etching.
Alternatively, you can first warm it a little with hot water, brush it with a 50:50 HCl acid solution, rinse thoroughly with warm water, put it in the bath and again rise current slowly.
Hope that helps.
