Is it chrome?
Hello, I have read all the posts and understand them all, but a big question of mine is, how can I determine if it really is chrome or if it is painted to look like chrome? I recently bought the wheel brand XXR 508. The lip and the V spokes are said to be chrome but they also offer the same exact wheel (XXR 508) in red, where the chrome would be on the other. So is there an easy way of telling because my intention is to paint the chrome looking lip with a 34K color code along with the removable V spokes being the same white color. I greatly appreciate your words to this matter. Thank you

Put some paint on a spot that does not show and let it cure for a couple of days. If you can peel the paint off with your fingernails, it is chrome. All other testing is destructive.

Thanks, James. That's exactly how to tell, and I have never thought of it.
