-----Outgassing anomalies caused by plugs?
May 5, 2009
Greetings, Is the length of the masking plug important? In other words; if the length
of the masking plug for a hole is too long will it interfere with or cause excessive
outgassing thus leaving the surface around the hole with a contrasting appearance?
manufacturer - Manteca, California, USA
In some, but not all, the excess plug interferes with the solution flow from whatever agitation method is used and causes the plating to be less in one or more quadrants around the hole. Heavy build hard chrome is very much bothered by excess plug length.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
