WPC (wood plastic composite) counter tops need HPL

April 24, 2009

Hi Dear:

I'm production manager of a wpc company. we produce counter tops with a base of 75% wood fiber and 25% pp, but our customers need these products with HPL laminates but we have to treat our surface...what is the best way to treat these products?

Best Regards

Hi, Farrokh. You are saying that these counter tops already have a slick and shiny WPC lamination layer on them, and now you want to adhere an HPL on top of that? I believe that contact cement is the normal way of adhering HPL to an underlayment, but I'm not sure if that will stick to the top of this WPC that you are manufacturing.
