-----Stress relieving thin stainless steel deep drawn components
I want to relieve stresses after cold deep drawing of Stainless steel sheet 0.6mm thick. Heat treatment deforms the shape. Do you have any suggestion to solve the problem?

Hi, Ajay. This site focuses on metal finishing rather than forming or heat treatment, so I don't know if we can help you. But I believe it is not the stress relieving process that deforms the parts, but the stresses that were in them. Perhaps the forming steps can be revised to minimize the stresses or to balance them such that relieving them doesn't cause distortion. Please see letter 10249 for some answers to a similar inquiry.
Because we focus on metal finishing, I must ask if you have considered the possibility of electroforming this finished thin metal shape from nickel instead of deep drawing it from stainless steel.
