Cyanide concentration in electroplating industries waste

I am a ph.d student and my work is on cyanide biodegradation from electroplating industrial waste, I want help in preparing a synthetic waste solution in my lab and for that I need to know various cyanide compounds and in what concentration they are present so that I can make an extract of synthetic waste solution for useful results

Hi, Neha. Potassium cyanide, sodium cyanide, and cyanide double salts are common. Cyanide is used for plating of many different metals, including cadmium, zinc, copper, silver, and gold. But its use is declining and the most difficult to eliminate use is probably silver plating. So can you focus your effort on silver cyanide? Does this sound possible or would the silver poison your bioremediation effort? I don't think the concentration is important since it is easy to dilute. And if you are successful the cleaned water could be used as the diluent for the next batch.

Hi, Neha. Sorry but I don't understand the question. You asked about industrial plating waste and I suggested that AgCN would be a good candidate for your study. Selenium finds little use in the plating industry so mentioning selenocyanate doesn't seem to be a sequitur at all. Good luck.
