Removal of white layer of a silver plated object

Hello,
I work at a small-scale business that has to do with silver plating of small objects that are used for souvenirs.
We use the silver cyanide technique and after the electrolysis a thin white opaque layer is formed on the surface of the objects. This layer can be removed by brushing in order to have a shining silver surface.
I would like to ask if somebody knows what is this layer and if there is a solution that can be used for its removal after the electrolysis or maybe during the immerse.

Thank you in advance

Christina, have you considered the possibility that you are not depositing bright silver, and that the brushing that you are doing is buffing the silver rather than removing a white contaminant?
