Making parts for B-17; need Boeing BF3 Finishing Specs

2007

Going back to the 1930s and 1940s on this one.
We have not been able to obtain information on what the Boeing BF3 series of finish specs are. They seem to be a progression of finish types defined by dash numbers, like BF3-35 and BF3-135, which encompass Cad plating, anodizing, etc for both Aluminum and Steel parts.

As we are making new parts for our B-17, we'd like to get as close to the original parts as possible. I've already performed web searches, and have even talked to some houses which do work for Boeing, but these specs are no longer used.

Can anyone recall, or know anything about these specs, such as how to get a copy of what they are?

advance THANKS
-Bill
