Acrylic Urethane or Powder Coat

(2000)

I'm presently restoring a Classic automobile and throughout the restoring I've sent many parts for electroplating (8 microns zinc with yellow chromate). However, I now decided have some parts painted rather than plated.

My question is: Can I paint right over the plated parts with an acrylic urethane from PPG. I have a concern on adhesion. Would you think that a primer would be required, or can I get away with paint only.

or

Would powder coating them be a better way to go.

Any info will be much appreciated.
