Electroformed moulds for rotomoulding

2007

I hope someone can help!

I need some direction. I am quite keen to start my own electroforming company to manufacture moulds for rotational moulding. I want to base this company in South Africa. (I am currently based in London)

I am looking to start this company up in around 12-18 months and I am looking for some good literature to familiarise myself with the process, I have googled this subject quite a bit but have not found anything substantial.

One forum I found suggested a book called The Electroplater's Handbook [affil link on Amazon] by C.W.Ammen (ISBN 0-8306-0410-3)

I have a really good background in rotational mould making, using machined and cast moulds, but I feel that electroforming is a much better process for various reasons.

Any advise would be appreciated :)

Contact the Institute of Metal Finishing at Exeter House, 48 Holloway Head, Birmingham, B1 1NQ, UK and/or the Nickel Institute at The Holloway, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7QA. They should have publications that will be of use.
