Alternate to Cadmium Plating in electrical contact applications
We, the leaders in Auto electricals in India like to know the alternate for cadmium plating for some our contact plates. As these are moving contact plates, the electrical conductivity, good wear resistance at high temperatures, and moderate corrosion resistance are must. The material of contact plate is copper.
Any expertise on the alternate plating system for cadmium that satisfies all the above properties would be highly appreciated.

Dear Mr Narasimhan,
White Bronze plating will be the best replacement over copper parts. Hardness will be as good as Nickel and Bimetallic compatibility and current carrying capacity will both excel Cadmium.

Our firm can do this for you.
