Can I chrome a plastic model?

I would like to chrome a 68 Mustang Revell model. Can this be done? How much and how would I prep?

Models do not need to endure years of abrasive and corrosive salt spray, detergent scrubbing, and blistering sun, so they do not need chrome plating. I'd suggest looking in the hardware store for shiny chrome-like spray paint and see how that goes.

The model can probably be chrome plated but would probably cost hundreds of dollars for all the custom effort.
