Silver jewelry turned gold

2007

I used a liquid silver cleaner on a bracelet and left in there for the recommended time indicated in the instructions. Much to my surprise when I pulled out of the container it looked gold. Is there anything I can do to restore the silver? I anxiously await a response from any knowledgable individual.

Thanks

Perhaps the silver was very thin and was removed as part of the polishing process, exposing the underlying brass or bronze alloy.

Sounds good to me, Ted.

Ed. note: Please see our FAQ, "Silver Plating at Home" regarding what you can do about it. Good luck.
