-----Quality testing of phosphate conversion
Q. I'm writing a specification for Zinc-phosphate conversion of steel parts.
I'd like to have a quick test to assess the quality of the treatment. A real weight would be fine, but hazardous chemicals we're not allowed to keep them in our lab. Any suggestion?
Thanks you.

A. I would suggest x-ray fluorescence.

? Antonello,
Can you farm out the lab work to a place which is allowed to do lab work? A chemical lab that can't have or use chemicals seems to be a rather ridiculous concept :-)
I appreciate Terry's suggestion, but x-ray fluorescence involves radioactive chemicals, which are certainly "hazardous".
