-----Will Corten metal damage clothing?
I want to use Corten in an area with heavy pedestrian traffic. Will Corten (or other self-rusting metals)damage clothing / outerwear?

Yes (unless you like a deep orange-brown). Runoff also stains concrete, stone, stucco, etc. United States Steel Corp. recommends not using COR-TEN® steel sheet for roofing and siding. Another product, COR-TEN AZP Prepainted Galvalume® duplicates the color of aged COR-TEN®.
Ken Vlach [deceased]- Goleta, California
Rest in peace, Ken. Thank you for your hard work which the finishing world, and we at finishing.com, continue to benefit from.

Regarding your concerns over the Corten, we have just finished coating a fence in Ranco Mirage ,Ca. It is Corten . We duplicated the color with a Ceramic based material. There is no danger of transfer of the color to anything .

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
