How can I remove a zinc thickness of zamak?

2007

I'm chemical engineer and I work for a company of zinc electroplating.
A problem appeared when we plating pieces of zamak, the pieces had been dark in the zone of low density. Now, we need to recoup these pieces. How we to make it? without an immersion in the acid remover bath.
Thank you.

Strange situation. I've never faced it but maybe a sand blast followed by a glass bead blast will remove the zinc coating and leave an acceptable surface. Alternatively a mass finishing process may also smooth the surface and at the same time get rid of the zinc.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
