MSA in decorative chrome bath

About 3 years age, we changed chrome suppliers. Since then, we have had problems with our anodes. We are getting both mass corrosion (to the point that the anode breaks when lifted out of the tank by the hook) and the anodes curl in toward the cathode.

We had the solution tested and found that it is contaminated with MSA. The solution has never been used for hard chrome plating.

I wanted to know if there is anything we can do about the anodes and/or the MSA contamination.

Thanks.

Talk to your chrome vendor. There is an outside possibility that he is using something like MSA to boost the efficiency of the plate. They should be able to help you with the problem.
