Passivation procedure

Dear Sirs,
I need a proper procedure for conducting passivation for a complete stainless steel water circulation loop, including the storage tanks. Inputs will be of great help.

Bahjat:

Use of citric acid based chelant passivation systems are routinely used for high purity water system passivation treatment of austenitic stainless steels. Their use is generally at 80 degrees C. for 1 to 3 hours. An alkaline cleaning process prior to passivation is required, and generally used under similar condition.

Thanks, Daryl.

You should use Biodegradable Stainless Steel Passivation jelly products. It will passivate SS lines properly.
