Change brushed nickel to brushed copper or rubbed bronze look?

We have many drawer pulls, a ceiling fan, chandelier, etc. that are done in the brushed nickel finish; we would prefer the oil rubbed bronze or brushed/antique copper color, but replacing all of these items would be too expensive. Does anyone know if there is a treatment that can be applied to brushed nickel to make it appear copper/bronze?

Try immersion copper plating--simply rub solution (with piece of rag) to object (grease and oxide free). If it works lacquer it with brown dyed lacquer.Hope it helps and good luck!
immersion copper: 1 lit water
50 gm copper sulphate
50 ccm ammonia
+add some tartaric acid [on eBay or Amazon]
solution must be slightly acid
