-----I am a girl who needs to give her car some tlc
I have a Vauxhall Tigra and I have noticed that it has started to rust on the rear drivers side wheel arch, I have been to a body repair shop and they told me that I'm looking at £200 to £300 to to cut the rust out and replace the metal and respray it. I don't really want to spend this much. any ideas on how else I can do it?

Hi Kim
If the rust is in a structural area you will have a problem at the next MOT. If it is just cosmetic---
1/ Go to local library and borrow the "Haynes Manual". If they don't have it for the Tigra, look in one of the others as they all have a chapter on body repair.
2/ Your local branch of Halfords will have all the necessary rust stopper, body filler and touch up paint. The colour of the paint is in the owners manual or on a metal plate under the bonnet.
Then all you need is a warmish dry day (in Anglesea?) and a little elbow grease.
Good luck,
