How to determine Ca++ from phosphate bath

Sir,
Please let me know how to find out Ca++ in calcium modified zinc phosphate without interfering Zn ++ in the same titration.

Jim,
Typically, sodium cyanide is added to the titration flask to complex zinc so it doesn't interfere.

If you do a Google or equivalent search, you should find what you're looking for.

Good luck.

You could try elevating the pH to 13 with sodium hydroxide, filtering, and running the titration again. Calcium should precipitate, leaving amphoteric zinc in solution. You could them determine calcium by the difference between the titration volumes required both before and after.
