SURFACE POROSITY OF NICKEL PLATED TUBES

Q. DEAR SIR
I WANT ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE SURFACE POROSITY OF nickel PLATED TUBES, THE MEASURING METHODS AND THE EFFECT OF THIS POROSITY ON THE DROPLET NUCLEATION OF WATER ON THE SURFACE IN CASE OF HUMIDITY EXISTENCE IN THE ENVIRONMENT AROUND.
THANK YOU AND BEST REGARDS

A. What is the base material of the tubes and why are you concerned about water nucleation? Are they used to carry fluids? Pressurized and hot fluids perhaps? If steel is the substrate, you can use a mixture of copper sulphate on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and water to reveal through porosity. Just wipe the tubes with solution and a red spot will indicate presence of exposed steel. About nucleation I don't know.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
