Powder Coating with Primers
2006
Q. Our product is a alternative power generator set which generally is used in outside applications. The cabinet is powder coated with a prime coat for additional corrosion resistance.
Question: Various coaters suggest using one (or none) the following primers:
1. E Coat
2. Rich zinc coating
3. Phosphate dip
4. Epoxy grey primer
We are not experts in powder coating -- which is best? Are they relatively equivalent? How about the cost factor?
Would appreciate your comments.

A. From this distance, #3 followed by #1 because this will insure at reasonable cost that all areas are pretreated and all areas have some paint Good luck.

A. Acrylic E COAT is the best option if your production is in bulk. it has zero paint loss and have cost benefit in long run as compared to others.
