Case Hardening of Plate Body Armor

2006

Hello my name is Troy Vincent , I live in Oklahoma.
I have been building body armor and mid evil weapons as a hobby for some time now.
Recently I started trying to figure out ways to make the plates stronger so a hardened blade point will not dig into it.
I would like to start case hardening them but know very little about the process.
I tried to find some casenite as the name kept popping up in my research, but couldn't find any, I did find a product called Cherry Red from a site called Rose Mill Co.
But now am concerned about the toxicity of the steel after the process.
It is after all going to be worn for extended periods and in some areas touching the skin.
What advice could you give me on this?

Thank you

Troy Brian Vincent
