-----Platinum Electroplate on Molybdenum
Dear Sir,
I need to put a platinum electroplate of ~5 microns on a molybdenum crucible used at high temperature. Do you have any suggestions for preparation of the substrate and expectations for results. Thanks.

You have decided to plate a difficult deposit onto a difficult substrate and use the result under difficult conditions. Depending on the temperature, you can reasonably expect mutual diffusion between the two layers.
Why not save a lot of grief and use a platinum crucible?
Yes, I know they are expensive but, at the end of the job, you return them to the refinery and get a significant part of your investment back.

Not easy or cheap but PVD can produce a coating with higher quality than plating. If there's a number of parts to be processed and they're big enough, coating them will surely be less expensive than solid platinum.
