Soot and smoke contaminated powder coated aluminum

We have a building which uses powder coated aluminum as a window facade. There was a fire and the powder coated facade came in contact with soot and smoke. Can I decontaminate and what do I use? Will the cleaning affect the final appearance? How? Will the thickness of the powder coating be reduced after cleaning? Does it need to be replaced? The level of soot is light and when I used my bare fingers to rub on the aluminum, the soot seem to come off easily without difficulty and the results look clean.

Hi,
As it had already worked with manual cleaning then use Brasso on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , like metal polisher and rub those affected areas by soft cotton. If this appears to be very much labour intensive and non-feasible then it is better to re-coat the lot.
