Chromic Acid Anodizing Substitute
2006
Currently, chromic acid anodizing is utilized for aerospace applications in Turkey. We want to substitute it with a non-chrome process.(for environmental regulations, since the negotiations for access to EU began). When we change to another process, do we have to also change the process line including sealing, rinsing or vapor degreasing solvent?
Thank you very much.

Probably not the number of tanks, but you are going to have all kinds of fun getting the chromic out of the tanks, clean enough to reuse them. I would look into using the boric/sulfuric process. That is a proprietary method of Boeing. Your seal will need to change also to comply with the EU. If nickel is a no-no, look at cobalt.
