White vinegar as treatment for galvanized steel

I am building a wheelchair-accessible porch out of new steel (not galvanized). I am getting ready to paint it...do I need to treat it with white vinegar ⇦ in bulk on eBay or Amazon [affil link] before I paint?

Hi Louis. It doesn't sound like a good idea to me, although there are other threads on this site where people recommend it. I'd prefer that you buy a primer and follow the direction on the can, which will probably not include vinegar. Good luck.
