Contamination of gold wire by touching nickel plated object
2006
We are plating EN (electroless nickel) on the aluminium housing, the housing is used to coil the gold wire, the enduser detected the nickel has contaminated their gold wire, especially those touching the nickel plated surface on the housing.
May I know, under what condition, a cured nickel plated surface able to dissolve and contaminate the touching object (here refer to the gold wire)?
TQ!

If the gold wire was running thru it, there is an outside possibility. If it was just wound around it, I would have to see the operation and the test that determined it to believe it.
