Is there a corrosion protection coating that can go under autophoretic coating?

I am currently looking to specify the use of a Autophoretic coating on an automotive component for the first time (for our company).

I am intending using the Autophoretic process as we need to plate AFTER the application of a EPDM seal, and I understand that this is no problem for the Autophoretic.

However, I am concerned that underneath the EPDM seal, there will be no plating and hence should the seal lift at all, there will be a starting point for some serious corrosion.

Is there any pre-treatment that could be used underneath the Autophoretic?
