-----Oxide film on stainless steel (X46 Cr 13, 1.4034) after eroding
Dear experts,
Our team is looking for a process to erase an oxide film from a stainless steel.
We erode a thin hardened wire D=0.8 in two sections. Afterwards there is a thin oxide film on the eroded surfaces.
Mechanically erase of the film is not a solution because of the precision and the thin cross section. Hardening after eroding is not good because of buckling.
The ideal process would be to prevent the oxide film during eroding or a chemical solution which erases the oxide film by complexation.
Thank you for your kind help and cooperation.

We have oxide removal chemical methods with no or mild hazardous effects. However in order to prevent stainless steel from oxidizing, it is important to know the conditions in which eroding takes place.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
