-----Ni Plate melting?
For many years we have had an electroplated Ni deposited on to an Fe-Cr-Ni alloy, subsequently heat treated at 800C in a hydrogen ambient - no problems!
BUT - now, with nominally the same process, we seem to be getting
'flow' of the Ni plate following our heat treatment at only 800C. Bubbles seem to form at edges, and the plate seems to flow. Also there seems to be an associated change from a 'dull' to a 'shiny' luster. Any thoughts?

It could be an alloy instead of 99.9% pure nickel rendered by most general purpose electro baths. Electroless nickel melts very close to that temperature.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
