Masking for tin plating on nickel plated component

I want to mask in a copper base plated nickel which we are doing in acid tin bath. mine problem is after tin plating the black line has come at the edge of the masking.

Quite probably you have chemicals seeping under the edge of the mask material. Better masking techniques or material will probably help.

The black line is probably due to either tin depletion of the electrolyte in a tight recess or solution creep under the mask resulting in tin depletion and the sub-sequential black deposit.
