Compatibility of Nitinol and Stainless Steel Stents

Is it safe to implant a nitinol stent inside a stainless steel stent? (touching each other) or visa versa? what evidence is there that proves this may not be safe? are there studies showing biocompatibility issues? or contrary proof?. SS having a weak galvanic effect, I would think it's OK to have these 2 metals touching inside the body without adverse reactions. let me know . thanks

Michael,

Have you performed a search of the scientific literature on this subject using a suitable engine such as Google Scholar, Scirus, or Cambridge Scientific Abstracts? This type of question seems beyond the scope of this forum.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
