-----Safe disposal of liver of sulfur used on silver
I am just beginning to start a jewelry business, having been certified in PMC and wish to use liver of sulfur ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] ... also wishing to know the safe way of disposing of it. Anyone know?

Liver of sulfur is made up of various sulfides and polysulfides of potassium. When spent, it likely also contains copper, silver, and other heavy metals.
It could be easily oxidized with hydrogen peroxide

, precipitated metals allowed to settle out, and the clear liquid on top decanted off to the sewer.
If you are a business, your best solution might be to contact a haz waste management company and get a quote for hauling this waste away. The paperwork and analytical requirements for the treatment and discharge of any haz waste can be very onerous, even if you only have very small quantities.
