Nickel/Silver plating on copper wire

Can any one provide me with the following...
1.An efficient electrolytic method of plating nickel on copper wire of 0.1219/0.1321 mm diam or any suggested links where I can get the information.
2.We already plate silver onto copper wire. Can any one suggest additives to the bath which would decrease the coating thickness and improve whiteness or suggest any links where I can get the information. We use cyanide copper.

It would depend on the nickel thickness you are looking to achieve, and the cleaning process involved.I find a good soak clean, followed by a bright dip(85%nitric15%phosphoric)followed by water rinse,10%sulfuric,water rinse, then to your cyanide copper.this should give you less of a white haze.the racking method I assume would be the same as used on your silver wire.good luck!

Dear Umang
It is possible provided you maintain your Bright Ni. bath properly. pH, boric and Chloride can be maintained at higher than optimum. Zari plating cell has to be continuously replenished using a flow regulated pump.
Reg your Bright Silver, I would suggest you to keep your bath well maintained.

1. Are you Nickel Plating Reel to Reel? What speed?
(Jet Plating)
2. Silver Plate --(cyanide Silver) Check your metal to FREE cyanide ratio, agitation. Are you using a high speed Plating formula? again, are you plating reel to reel, continuous ly.
