-----How to remove Chrome from Copper Fire Extinguisher
I have a copper fire extinguisher that is plated with chrome. Is there anything that I can buy in a regular store that will remove the chrome plating. I intend to sell the original antique piece but need to remove the chrome.

The thing is, Ryan, "chrome plating" actually involves a heavy layer of nickel plating followed by a flash of chrome plating (please see our "Introduction to Chrome Plating"). While the chrome is relatively easy to remove with muriatic acid (easy, but not safe unless you are wearing proper protective equipment and know what you are doing), getting the nickel off is much harder. You'll probably need a proprietary nickel stripper. Although an option may be to send it to a plating shop for stripping. Good luck.
