-----Measuring Degreaser Effectiveness
There are many degreasers/cleaner available to remove the oil from metals surfaces. But can someone help me to find the way by which I can find the presence of oily surface after degreasing i.e, whether the oil is still present after the degreasing process has been done.
Thanking you. Regards,

A waterbreak test is the easiest and most practical for many purposes. Please expound on the situation that motivates the question and I'm sure we can offer additional detail regarding that situation.

Dear Mooney,
We are using rust preventive oil for our steel components. We apply a degreaser/cleaner to remove this oil before any other process. The steel component degreased must be free from any oil residue. To confirm it, we need a method which is easy and feasible in any chemistry lab.

What you probably need is a simple water-break test. Mr. Davidson. One example is ASTM F22. If you search our site for "ASTM water break" you will find many letters addressing this topic. letters 12684 and 19124, for example, are good ones. Good luck.
