Custom color/plating of mild steel bolts

I am a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoy customizing my motorcycle. I would like to plate all of the exterior bolts to match the color of my bike. These bolts are made of mild steel and most are torx drive button heads, for my application the actual head is all I am concerned with having a nice finish. I have heard that a zinc chromate finish is available in a blue color but would like some information about this process and if custom shades of blue could be achieved with this process.

Dyed chromate films are pastel and will not match the vibrant color of paint. The heads of the bolts should probably be painted.
