-----Capillary (micro-cracks) after chromium plating
2005
We are producer of injection moulded plastic parts for automotive industry and we also produce parts for chromium plating. (Chromium plating is accordance to norm Nr. B154140 Coating thickness: Cu =
15 ìm; Ni = 7 ìm; Cr = 0,3 1,5 ìm).
We have problems with after galvanizing layer appearance. Capillary is the defect which is mostly appeared. We would like to know if there exist some recommended conditions of moulding or surface stress which affects internal stress of plastic part. We could polish these capillary (micro-crackers) but after some time they come back. Could you give us recommendation if this problem is caused by process parameters during injection moulding or if it is caused by chromium process?

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
