Military plaques

I am trying to find how to clean military plaques. These plaques are 12x12 and have raised letters. Most of them are covered in a sort of green film. We have around 250 of these to clean. All of these plaques are outside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are probably made of bronze or brass? What to do would depend on what effect you want, but maybe you could buff the highlights (the raised lettering and such) with brass cleaner or a fine abrasive while leaving the recesses oxidized. This would be much easier than trying to clean the nooks and crannies; it's a matter of taste, but they might look better that way too.
