-----Zinc plate in cleanroom
I would like to know why zinc plating is not used in the cleanroom application. This is for atmospheric application. Does it outgas and cause particle problems? Is it not durable enough? Does it degrade over time or corrode easier than nickel?

I wasn't aware that it isn't used in cleanrooms. But a good reason would be that it is subject to zinc whiskers; I know a lot of zinc plated flooring has been pulled out of computer rooms. Hot-dip galvanizing is less of a problem and has replaced that flooring.
