Maintenance-free iron railing for exterior beach environments

I am building a home near the ocean and would like to have an iron decorative railing enclosing the balconies. What is the best maintenance free (hence corrosion-free) product. Should I choose galvanized or do I need galvanized with powder coat?

Only two solutions- stainless steel(316 grade or duplex) or titanium(too expensive).Good luck!

Demetra..the bestt product to use is marine grade 316 Stainless steel. Steel will work also if you first apply zinc-based primer or powdercoat as you have suggested. Our company has done several 'real metal' treatments for problems as you are stating which have worked very well in coastal conditions. Feel free to phone me to discuss you project.
