Pretreatment for Zamak

2005

I'd like to know some informations about pretreatment for Zamak. If I can use only chemistry attack, what can I use to turn the zamak surface more homogeneous, without attacking the zamak. After the pretreatment, do you think if I put an organic compound in solution to improve the protection of zamak I would have good results?

What kind of organic compound?

Thank you so much...

You were misspelling zamak, Bruna, which probably interfered with your search. There is no 'c' in the word. Very rarely is chemical treatment a substitute for mechanical treatment (polishing, buffing, vibatroy finishing, etc.) and I strongly suspect that you will find no chemical treatment for zamak that will replace the mechanical work. Please search our site for 'zamak' and you will find dozens of Q&As that may be helpful.
